Both ACT and MBCT always use scientific methods of CBT in the old school to change behavior. However, their goal is to give patients a taste of what Zen masters have known for centuries: you can not feel anxious if you are totally immersed in the moment andnot withstand all that.

It is difficult to explain the importance of being “present” to those unfamiliar with Eastern mysticism. But just to give you a brief explanation, being present in the Zen sense is like every time you see a beautiful mountain or holding a newborn for a few seconds to stop your thoughts and your heart is filled with joy than emotions forgotten.

Your ACT and MBCT therapist will teach you to create this state of non-thought and consciousnessmoment. You learn to accept your symptoms of anxiety and not resist them. Through advocacy attention, you learn to look at things objectively compulsive you do to address your concerns and see how your life is a struggle to fight against giant symptoms.

Makes me wonder if luc had something to drink before he died or something like that, because the way they phrase it in the journal, it does sound like drinking is something he’s against. i doubt tanger is baptist or against drinking because of his age, no one is as intense as sid when it comes to training and he drinks so it’s not because of training, so it must be because of something that happened.

unless he does like liquor or something, but the anony sophomore claims that he occasionally drinks. interesting. good for tanger though. too much alcohol does stupid things to people. i don’t blame him for what happened. alcohol does stupid things to our reflexes and brain. I was very very mad at him for the rest of the eve. and i know that’s why i wasn’t happy with the rest of the night…. but…i don’t blame him. and i forgave him. he didn’t say the things he did on purpose, and that’s why i can look back now and say, ok shit happened, he pushed my buttons and emotions that night for a reason, but – it won’t happen again. end quote. however he’s one of my best friends. and i value his friendship very much. and after i thought about the way the whole night played out, I realized that I should have been more understanding and forgiving from the getgo with him. it wasn’t his fault that I have issues that can’t be dealt with head-on by another outside source. and after he left this morning, i felt awful about the way I was all night to him. Because looking back on it, i know what it’s like to be drunk and talkative. I’ve been there. it’s not something you can control. You pretty much just say the first things that come to mind when you’re in that state of mind. oh well….it’s all water under the bridge now…and i hope he can understand and forgive me for being the ‘bitch diva’ of the night. when all i wanted to do was crawl into bed and sleep. oh well … life goes on.
